Meridian Hill Park (Malcolm X Park)

Meridian Hill Park, or Malcolm X Park, is located between 15th and 16th Streets and Euclid and W Streets NW. The park is a cultural hub on weekends, and is home to the famous for the Sunday afternoon drum circle that has been going on continuously for several decades. The atmosphere is a haven within the professional nature of DC itself, and is a place people go to relax, dance, play, walk their dogs, read, and play music. Joan of Arc stands bronze in the center, symbolically freeing the people from their weekend warrior lifestyles. If you want to partake, the closest Metro stations are the U Street and Columbia Heights stops.
